Dear Amir: While I wish I had a recording, I was so moved by your music and glad to be in the moment. Thanks again for the gift of your presence and music.

Dear Amir, It was a great pleasure to open the second day with the mystical and heart opening songs of Rumi-  a beautiful way to connect all of us through time, cultures and our spiritual longing.
Thank you for joining us and inspiring us. Sincerely, M

Thank you for bringing your transcendent music, beautiful and uplifting. Your discussion of the mythic nature and history of the instrument was riveting!

Dear Amir, It was great meeting you after your fantastic concert at Stony Brook University on Wednesday October 2nd. My wife and I really enjoyed the concert and your explanation of Sufi Music/songs and Dervish dance.
Look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Dear Friends:
It was such a joy and homecoming to be together again for such a healing, inspiring evening ..
Thank you Amir.

Dear Amir,
Many thanks to all of you for a memorable and heart-filled evening -- much needed in the midst of such a stressful overall moment in our world. The last 2 numbers were particularly moving -- I felt transported to a different time and place, The feedback I have had so far has been overwhelmingly positive ("Was it REALLY only the instruments that were seen playing because it certainly seemed there was a full orchestra") and I look forward to the reflections from my students.
Many, many thanks for making the long drive, for providing us with an evening to remember, and simply for being the amazing people you are.

Angel

In the heart of Midtown New York yesterday was a magical mystic performance by the amazing Amir Wahab and his band, chanting sufi music and teaching Sufism, love, kindness and spirituality in addition to Rumi poetry.
You will regret not attending one of his performances.

Here's a sample of his performances.

Dorood and sad dorood be ostad.

Amir,

Hi, thank you so much for coming to the library on Saturday. Everyone in the audience really enjoyed the performance. All week I have been getting compliments to convey to you.

Again, thank you so much!

Susan

Hello Amir, I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful music I heard from your ensemble this past Saturday at the Westfield library. I discovered Sufi poetry a few years ago and was amazed by its wisdom & relevance to the modern world! Today is 9/11 and as you said, people have far more in common then they realize. Music helps us remember that! It should not take a crisis to bring people together.

Signed up for your mailing list, please keep me posted for your return trips to NJ! Will you have recordings available?

John

Dear Amir, We really enjoyed your concert. The music was wonderful and your stories really added to the enjoyment.

Miltred

Thank you for being our guests at Columbia University tonight. Your performance touched our hearts. I am now listening to 'Navaee' and I haven't heard anything more beautiful lately. I am determined to sing & play it on my guitar. Thank you for sharing kindness through your music.

Afsar

I took Turkish Ney lessons and by that way met with his sufi circle & concerts. Wonderful Teacher. Amir & the spirit created around him is beyond words. Rumi, Yunus & all other sufi, mystic or lovely poets and music become alive with his great soul and heart. Words cannot explain, just attend one of events and feel; experience with all your soul & heart.

Hi Amir, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the concert on Saturday. It was one of the best ever, and I'm still hearing the tambour music in my head (I was going to say tambour "riffs"--maybe not appropriate!). The venue was also very special--great space and great sound.

Saw Amir Vahab and his ensemble perform Rumi's music and poetry live at Columbia University, with instruments dating backs 1000s of years. Intoxicating.

Many thanks for touching so many hearts, souls, and minds - to Amir for his outstanding musical abilities that left many students speechless and in awe - and connecting in ways they had not imagined, including to themselves; event; to Gayle and Yvette whose deep attention and attentiveness provided the heartbeat of the evening.

What a gift to find this beautiful soul and inspiring music in the heart of Manhattan... It was one of these times where you know the path was wiser than its walker, leading me back into the center of presence and love itself.

Thank you Amir Alan Vahab and your amazing interfaith and international musicians for this gift - the yearning of the heart.

Allen Rasafar

Thank you for your wonderful contribution to rich Persian and Turkish music. If you ever needed a traditional Azeri, Persian, Arabic, English, I would be delighted to come and see you and kiss your hands and your forehead. Yashasin.

Dana

Hi, Amir. I have been meaning all week to send you a message letting you know how much I enjoyed your performance last weekend concert. You and your troupe played magnificently and movingly. I especially enjoyed the last song when you played the pipe at the end of the song. I hope that everything is good with you. All the best, Dana

Steve

Hi Amir. This is Steve, the sound engineer from your show last night. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. I just wanted to reach out and thank you for such an amazing night of music and poetry. As I was mixing your performance, I really felt the music and the message reverberate throughout my soul and take me to a different place. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of that experience, very much appreciated. I hope I conveyed the message to the audience as it was meant to be conveyed.

Robin

Amir - I was so blessed to be at Sivananda this past week to hear you speak and listen to your beautiful music. You really are an amazing teacher and musician. You make the world a better place with your heart & spirit!

Rym

Dear Amir, When you performed the last song at the Cathedral, I recall having these impressions.

Your soul seemed to travel through different spiritual states, and so did your voice. You were getting connected with the audience. In the last song, your voice took on a celestial or an unearthly quality to it. Your body seemed to gradually vanish from the stage as your spirit became the main performer. Your voice allowed the audience to travel to an unseen world. Beyond Rumi's lyrics, there were hidden lyrics. Their message sounded like, "Come to this magical place that is yours. Even though you doubt it exists, once you see how beautiful it is, you will not be scared to depart from it. Join me in this heavenly place." The texture of your voice changed because of the rapture of your spiritual state, it became purer, and transported the listener to a more peaceful place.

Congratulations, LONG LIVE MASTER.

John

Amir, The interaction with your voice and the lead tanbur playing was divine. With that you came closer to touching the collective souls in the audience. You picked some beautiful songs for this performance. Also you showed you have a two, possibly three octave range with your voice which constantly gets better.

Molly

Dear Amir, Hi. I want to thank you so much for your wonderful concert of last Friday evening. It was absolutely beautiful and I was mesmerized. Every performer was, of couse, excellent, but once you played, the music changed - it had life and it was alive.

What a brilliant artist you are! And I eternally thank you for your invitation to the beautiful world of music.

Soheil

Hi Amir! I have been in Europe for the last 2 months... but one of my friends sent me your big NY Times article and I read it with relish. Keep up the great work! Best.

Dear Amir,

I enjoyed reading about you in the NY Times. I have recommended you to a very good friend who is looking for a teacher of Iranian music. He will be in touch with you by email.

Look forward to your future concerts.

Praveen

It was amazing, pure bliss.

Dear Amir, Thank you so much for last night's deeply moving performance. My son talked about you in the car all the way home until he fell asleep. He told his 5th grade class today about last night's event and is rekindled in his interest in practicing his piano now that "the greatest musician in the world" told him to practice. We were very impressed by the level of musicianship displayed last night. I still cannot get over how much you were able to produce in variety of sounds with such simple looking instruments.

Thank you again for a deeply heart-felt experience. I don't think I have ever been so moved by a performance. It truly touched my heart and soul. I hope that more will discover the power of music therapy. Surely it is no accident that music has always featured prominently in spiritual experiences.

Best wishes and I look forward to hearing you play again. Sincerely, N.
